Max Schneider

U.S. Geological Survey
Max Schneider is a research statistician in the Operational Aftershock Forecasting team at the United States Geological Survey, working in Moffett Field, California. His work focuses on the quantification and visualization of risk and uncertainty for earthquake models. Current research focuses on designing user-centered forecast maps and graphics and then evaluating how they affect the perception and communication of risk. He also works on statistical testing and modeling for aftershock forecasts and other natural hazards. Schneider holds a PhD in statistics from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in mathematics from the University of Potsdam, Germany.
