Michael K. Lindell is emeritus professor at Texas A&M University (TAMU); and affiliate professor at University of Washington, Boise State University, and Oregon State University. Over the past 50 years, he has conducted research and provided technical services on the management of a wide range of natural and technological hazards for over 40 public and private sector organizations. He has been a consultant on radiological emergency response planning to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the International Atomic Energy Agency. During his term as Director of the TAMU Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center, he led a team that was funded by the Texas Division of Emergency Management to produce hurricane evacuation planning documents for Texas coastal counties. He has been a member of three National Research Council committees, made over 200 presentations in the US and abroad, and is the author of 80 technical reports, 200 journal articles and book chapters, and 11 books.
