Michael Michaud

Michael Michaud is the risk communication scientist with the New York State Weather Risk Communication Center, where he works on operationalizing social science research into weather forecasting and communication. Michaud holds a PhD in disaster science and management from the University of Delaware. He earned a Master of Education in educational leadership and policy from the University of Utah and a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric science from Lyndon State College. His research interests revolve around the intersection of weather, society, and emergency management. He is also the current chair of the American Meteorological Society Board on Societal Impacts.
