Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains

Sandra Katz, originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has experience as a healthcare chaplain and as executive director of a non-profit. She directed the chaplaincy department at two different elder care communities and has supervised other chaplains at a Rochester, New York, hospital. She is a past President of Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains, with a 21-year history of service to the profession on the board of directors. She has undergraduate degrees in computer science and music, master’s in human relations and Hebrew literature, ordination from Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion’s New York campus, and a Doctorate of Ministry. Just as some people engage in improvisational comedy, she thinks of her work in healthcare as improv tragedy.
