H. Tristan Wu

H. Tristan Wu is a professor in the Department of Emergency Management and Disaster Science and associate dean for Research in the College of Health and Public Service at the University of North Texas. He also serves as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Mass Emergencies and Disasters. His research focuses on household and individual decision-making and behavior before and during disasters, with an emphasis on risk communication, risk perception, hazard adjustments, and protective actions. Wu specializes in survey and experimental design, mix-methods, and geographic information systems. His work has been supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation, the Natural Hazards Center, and other agencies.
