Listening Session

This listening session brings together editors from five leading risk, hazards, and disaster research journals to speak about their respective missions and identify major issues they encounter in effectively communicating the increasing risk of hazards to informed academic and practitioner audiences. Attendees will first hear from the editors of Environmental Hazards, International Journal of Mass Emergencies and Disasters, Journal of Structural Engineering, Natural Hazards Review, and Risk Analysis. They will then have the chance to share their questions and concerns with the publishing process, such as those related to framing relevant research questions, preparing manuscripts for publication, and participating in the review process to inform improvements for more effective and impactful research.
