Resilience Through Effective Early Warnings
Networking Roundtable
Sunday, June 14, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. MDT
Location: TBD
Clear, compelling, consistent, and rapidly disseminated communication is essential to reduce harm from increasingly frequent and intense weather hazards. Despite strong evidence of what makes warnings for extreme weather and other hazards effective, implementation remains fragmented. This roundtable brings together international and U.S. based risk communication experts to facilitate a discussion about the geographic, disciplinary, and institutional silos that impede the translation of research into operational warning practice. Participants will also have the opportunity to consider creative ways to share and reinforce emergency messages.
