What Keeps You Up at Night? Vulnerability and Disasters Yet to Come

Tue. 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., Interlocken A/B

As devastating as the 2017 disaster season was, we know that many people and places are still at risk to persistent and future threats. The plenary speakers in this session will focus on issues related to earthquakes, floods, pandemics, and other hazards that keep them up at night. Attention will also be paid to the implications of unsustainable development, poor land use planning, and rising social and economic inequality that further exacerbate these risks.
