Submission Guidelines
Poster Session and Research and Practice Highlights
We are now accepting submissions for Research and Practice Highlights only. Please read the description below and click the blue box for online submission.
Guidelines for both categories are as follows:
Poster abstracts must be received by March 27, 2023, be 250 words or less, and include a separate listing of title, author/co-authors, and affiliations. Information should be entered exactly as you would like it to appear online. In all cases, you will receive email confirmation that your submission was received.
Research and Practice Highlights must be received by June 1, 2023, be 250 words or less, and include a separate listing of title, author/co-authors, and affiliations. Information should be entered exactly as you would like it to appear online. In all cases, you will receive email confirmation that your submission was received.
Please review the abstract formatting guidelines before submitting your Research and Practice Highlight. Improperly formatted abstracts will not be accepted.
Poster Session Abstracts
Two rounds of poster sessions will be held. The first will be on the evening of Sunday, July 9, and the second on Monday, July 10, 2023. Poster session participants will be assigned a 4x4-foot vertical space for one night to display a professionally formatted and printed poster highlighting recent work. You will also be asked to share a PDF version of your poster to be shared digitally. At least one author must be available to present their poster presentation, in person, on the assigned evening. Abstracts for accepted poster submissions will be published online.

Research and Practice Highlights
Do you have something new that you want to share with members of the hazards and disaster community?
Research and Practice Highlights are all about shining a bright light on new projects, programs, initiatives, local/state/national policies, and noteworthy publications.
Highlights are brief descriptions of your work or current projects. They are not for presenting at the Workshop, but rather, they will be posted online for attendees to read. This outlet allows all participants the opportunity to share what they are doing and to maximize networking potential.
