Artificial Intelligence for Disaster Preparedness, Response, and Recovery

Tuesday, July 15, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. MDT
Location: Interlocken B

Artificial intelligence (AI) has a growing relevance across sectors and the disaster management cycle. As we chart a course for the future of the hazards and disasters field, this panel asks where AI and other emerging technologies fit in. This session will highlight pilot projects that are using AI to gather real-time data during events, helping to conduct rapid damage assessments post-disaster, and modeling and visualizing the potential for future disasters and climate hazards. Panelists will also discuss the progress and potential challenges of embracing this new technology.
