Navigating the Data Deluge: Towards Practical Decision-Support Tools
Tuesday, July 15, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. MDT
Location: Pine
Cutting-edge research and data in the hazards and disaster field doesn’t always lead to improvements on the ground. Information overload and complex data platforms can deter emergency managers and other community decision makers from accessing and applying the best available data and scientific insights. In this session, panelists who are working at the intersection of technology, policy, and community need will explain how they’re making data more user-friendly. They will also showcase various decision-support tools to enhance understanding of hazard risk and impact to guide recovery and resilience planning.
