As climate change makes extreme events more common, resilience grows more urgent. Both Japan and the United States are strongly committed to improving disaster resilience; and research communities are conducting rigorous studies to improve resilience policy and practice. For these reasons, the Japan Science and Technology Agency has partnered with the U.S. National Science Foundation to collaborate on human-centered data for resilience research. Presenters in this session will discuss advancements being made in human-centered data for resilience, new opportunities that have emerged, and the challenges faced along the way. Audience ideas and feedback are welcome.
