Goals on equity, climate resilience, and readiness are part of the 2022-2026 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Strategic Plan. This means that now, more than ever, FEMA needs engagement from the academic community, including those from historically underserved and underrepresented communities. In this session, panelists from FEMA’s Higher Education Program (HiEd), FEMA Region 8, and academic partners will discuss ways to engage with FEMA on research that explores the nexus between climate change and social inequities and design solutions that improve national resilience.
