The hazards community has long recognized the importance of socioeconomic and demographic factors in shaping individual, household, and community resilience. Recently, the Census Bureau created the Community Resilience Estimates program, which considers the need for the most accurate, granular, and stable data. Panelists in this session will discuss the tools being developed, how to access the data products and their potential uses, and the role that researchers and practitioners can play in improving and promoting the new tools and data.
