This session will officially open this year’s Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop. Natural Hazards Center Director Lori Peek will give brief comments and help orient you to our 47th Annual–and third virtual–Natural Hazards Workshop. You will also learn important details about the online platform, find out more about how the program will proceed, and meet this year’s Workshop award winners.

This year we are also bringing back our long-standing self-introductions during the opening session, virtual style! This tradition originates in our mission to facilitate connections between our diverse audience. Please be prepared to have your cameras on, join a breakout room, and introduce yourself to friends and colleagues, old and new.
