Who Gets a Say? Power, Authority, and Climate Policy

Tuesday, July 12, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. MDT

A recent uptick in funding and the political will to engage in climate adaptation has led to a number of programs driving change in our communities. Such efforts are desperately needed, but are we approaching them in a way that addresses the unique needs of the locations that are impacted? This session will look at who has the power to drive climate mitigation and adaptation, how existing policies exacerbate power imbalances, and where funding to address injustice is being distributed. In addition, those working outside of traditional power structures will talk about their experiences in ensuring their voices are heard in such discussions.
