Tuesday, July 15, 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. MDT
Location: Centennial F

Hazards are felt across the globe, but their impacts depend on unique local preparedness efforts, infrastructure, building practices, policies, culture, and more. This panel brings together scholars from Japan, New Zealand, England, and Turkey to discuss lessons learned from international hazard events. Panelists will share case studies and examples across the disaster lifecycle to tease out universal lessons that apply across contexts and geographies. They’ll also discuss how cultural beliefs and practices play an important role in improving disaster preparedness, response, and resilience.
