Global Alliance of Disaster Research Institutes
The Global Alliance for Disaster Research Institutes (GADRI) is a forum for sharing knowledge and promoting collaboration on topics related to disaster risk reduction and resilience to disasters. GADRI was formed in 2015 and currently has 143 member institutes from 38 countries. A key goal of GADRI is to allow disaster research institutes around the world to provide a unified message for policy makers. This session shares information about GADRI and its goals and activities. In addition, presenters will engage the audience in discussion about the idea of creating a North American Regional Council of GADRI members, since its membership already includes a number of institutes from the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
