Curating and communicating effective hazards and disaster information is essential to establishing the sense of purpose that successful coalitions rely on. This panel will explore all stages of disaster communications, from identifying hard-to-reach audiences and unique information needs to developing eye-catching communications products like maps, pamphlets, social media graphics, and coloring books. Panelists will explore persistent communications challenges, such as conveying uncertainty, and explore the importance of communication as a critical strategy to build community capacity for disaster preparedness, response, and resilience.
