Keeping Count: Deaths, Damage, and Dollars Lost from Disasters

Another historic year for billion-dollar weather and climate disasters has just passed. As losses from disasters continue to mount, this panel will describe novel approaches to counting the visible—and importantly, the invisible—costs from disasters for individuals, businesses, and communities. They will also consider how we might better measure and monitor hazards risk across time and place.
