Plenary: Taking Action in Communities Vulnerable to Disaster

Over the past several decades, a tremendous amount of knowledge has been accumulated about the disproportionate toll that disasters take on vulnerable members of communities. This final plenary session will feature speakers who are taking action on behalf of, and alongside, members of marginalized groups. Speakers will provide examples of innovative approaches to reaching, engaging, and empowering people exposed to disaster risk. They will also discuss ways to inform diverse stakeholders about the importance of taking action before disaster strikes.
