Taking Stock: The Gender and Disaster Network Turns Twenty

In 1997, a group of researchers and practitioners joined together at the Natural Hazards Workshop and made a pledge to create the Gender and Disaster Network (GDN). In the two decades since, GDN has become a global force, with hubs around the world. This session features founding members of the Network, as well as emerging leaders in the field of gender and disaster research. They will discuss advances in gender and disaster scholarship and ongoing gaps and opportunities for study and partnership.
