Children are reliant on a variety of individuals and institutions for their safety and wellbeing before, during, and after a disaster. This panel will describe a number of new initiatives in schools and communities designed to encourage preparedness and to improve life safety using enhanced guidance, school retrofits, the construction of school storm shelters, and more.
