Researchers and practitioners in this community have long lamented the low priority that hazard mitigation and disaster risk reduction has among political leaders and in policy-making bodies. Members of this community have also been at the forefront of examining the legal responsibilities of various federal agencies. This panel will address these policy and legal spheres in the context of the most recent presidential administration.
