Plenary: Communicating Knowledge. Sparking Action?

This plenary session features leading journalists who are on the front line of communicating about acute and chronic environmental threats. They will discuss the reporting they have done on hazard mitigation, disasters, and climate change—as well as the public and political response to the stories they produce. Panelists will talk about how they go about communicating complex knowledge to the public and will reflect on whether they think their work has sparked social change. They will also share how they are doing more with fewer resources for news reporting, while simultaneously responding to concerns about media integrity.
